My show is coming to Oxford for three nights. Those nice people at Underground venues have got together with oxfringe.com who make the comedy festival in Oxford, and have invited me to come and do my show. Parking is very expansive in Oxford, so I will probably get the bus, and its always nice to visit the Bodeleean Library.

The Edinburgh Festival is over. I was only able to blog until day six when everytihng in my head became to big to write about. I met some ace people such as Chris and Paul from New York City who do funny sketches and was allowed to go on Comedy Countdown a few time in the dictionary corner and play with Dan Atkinson and James Sherwood and Paul Sinha and David the clock. This was all tremendous fun.

I am going to bed now for a few days and will get up in time to got down to the Lodnod to meet Charlie and go on another tour.

Thanks you very much to all the people who I met in the Scotland and saw my map of Britain. I've not been everywhere yet...but I will one day.

Edinburgh Day 6

Today I had a media opportunity and was the very first guest on 'Edinburgh Tonight' which was on at 5.45 in the afternoon. One of the hosts was Lorriane Chase but I did not really get the chance to speak to her. I did get to meet '4 poofs and a piano' who are a musical group who are all homosexuals. They were very chatty and pleasant and I got my picture taken with them. I did not see a piano with them and thought it might be rude to ask.

It has rained all day in Scotland and I am getting wet on the Royal mile. I also need to buy new batteries for the telly remote control.

At night I saw Paul Daniels and Debi McGee crossing the road. He was wearing a panama hat.

Edinburgh Day 3 and 4

I was nervous as it was the first day of my show in Edinburgh and I wanted everything to be right. I have made some placards and covered them with book-cover-film to keep the rain off. They look proper good.
At the show there were hiccups of a technical nature. The little telly I had got for the show had got damp and would not work and 5 minutes before the end of the show there was a power cut and all the lights and microphone went off. I went very quiet and thought my first show had ended before its time then realised that I could talk and the people could still hear my jokes in the dark so that was alright. The lights came on again and the people could leave the room - it was a good show.

By the time I went home to the flat it was dark and I got lost end ended up in a place called dynamic earth which is a big white dome. I met some drunken men who were sitting in a corner and told them some jokes. They told how to find my way back to where I was going across some grass and over what I thought was really shiny concrete but was actually water. I have broken my shoes and will need to get some new ones.

On the second day I was on the Royal Mile flyering and Jimeon walked past. When I said 'Hello Jimeon' he dropped his golf club that he was carrying, hen picked it up and chatted to me. I do not know Jimeon but thought it was polite to say hello, I would not like to get on the wrong side of a man who carries an iron golf club down the royal mile.

The second show was much better than the first and there is a new joke too. I walked home the right way and found 10p on the ground.

Edinburgh Day 2

I bought a new biro for 45p, then another better rollerball pen for a pound. I was meeting the publicity man and wanted to look professional. At the meeting we both had a cup of tea and the waitress brought it in a pot, so I decided to take charge and be mother.

On the evening there was the launch party. Lots of people were socially networking in the room and it got a bit cramped. There were lots of men with long hair, beards, glasses and hats on who looked like they were in disguise but weren't.
There were one or two well known comedians and many more I did not know. I decided it was much easier to sit down on a small stool and watch instead of taking part so I did. A lot of people were trying to be seen but not be noticed which is hard to explain but this is what they were doing. Some people looked a me as I was sitting on the small stool on my own looking at them. One person said hey had seen me ans liked my stuff. I met with some Manchester comedians and we queued up for a free hog roast sandwich with apple sauce and crackling.

Later on I got excited when I saw Charlie Chuck sitting in a the corner of a room. He is ace and I said hello to him. I will go to his show.

On the way home I saw Terry Alderton and Tim Vine talking outside a chip shop and waved at them even though they do not know me.

Buxton Fringe Nomination

How Nice. I was nominated for and award for 'Best Comedy by an Individual' at the Buxton Fringe. I did not win, the other nominants were James Sherwood, Henning Wehn and Izy Suttie. Well done to Izy who won.

Stopping off in Buxton to trial material for his Edinburgh appearances, this is a work in progress. Changes will no doubt be made, and finer details finessed – but there is already much to praise about Danny Pensive's Map of Britain. The charming and quirky delivery of some unusual and amusing anecdotes is thoroughly winning.

Pensive is an endearing character, easy to warm to and a joy to watch. Even this audience couldn't help but get caught up in this genial adventure.

Buxton Fringe Review

I have done my first show at the Buxton Fringe and it has been reviewed by a man called David who has said very nice things.

What is certainly true is that pure comedy gold has been discovered in the persona of sweet and gentle Danny Pensive. Like the most inquisitive infant, he questions almost everything he witnesses and seeks answers with a challenging purity, finding a seriously funny angle at every turn...

The ingenuity of the delivery is matched only by the gems unearthed along the way.

Cleverly written poetry, silly songs and concise entries in Danny's Diary... As Danny himself would explain, "Buxton is now on me map alongside Edinburgh. Not literally next to each other mind you, but because they both have super fringes...just like cowboy's trousers!"

April 22nd - Danny Pensive's Playtime at the Lass O'Gowrie

It's time for another playtime.

I will be at the Lass O'Gowrie in Manchester to try out lots of new things and idea what are all part of the show going to Edinburgh later in the year. This will be the last playtime before the Edinburgh Previews in June and July. There will be a guest who is Vic McGlynn doing some stuff too.

Show coming to The Buxton Fringe

I am bringing my show 'Danny Pensive's Map of Britain' to the Buxton Fringe this year. All that is known at the minute is that I am in the Barrel Room, with dates and time's being confirmed shortly.
The Buxton Fringe runs from 4th - 26th July and is one of the biggest festivals outside of Edinburgh.

Date's will be posted as soon as I know them.

Danny Pensive's Map of Britain

In August I will be doing a full proper show at the Edinburgh Festival. I have been to loads of places now and got a lot of stuff to talk about. The show is so big I have drawn a big map on a sheet of A0 paper, what is the biggest normal sized sheet of paper you can get before you have to go to a proper printers and order reams.

There will be regular updates here, and if you are interested then it is a good idea to join the mailing list here so you can receive the updates and also ticket offers and stuff like that.
